You've been in your home for about 10 years now, or you just moved in and you knew that you wanted to remodel the kitchen in your house. You have a budget and you've selected a contractor who is very familiar with the building codes in your area and came highly recommended. You evaluated their website and from what you've read, the way they work with their clients and the way you like to work with vendors seems like a good match. So what\u2019s the next step?<\/p>\n

Planning and Communication<\/h2>\n

The best way to start with your kitchen remodel is to make a list of what you want to be able to do or what challenges you wish to eliminate with the new kitchen remodel.<\/p>\n

Space Requirements<\/h2>\n

Consider the number of people you want to be able to cook for or have space for a table large enough to them. Do you want to be able to fill a pasta pot with water and not have to drag it across the room when it\u2019s full? How about the kids? Do you want them to have access to cabinets or drawers? How about the microwave? All these appliances can be placed at a lower vantage point to little ones can have access to them or placed higher in the kitchen so they cannot. Do you want a casual breakfast bar for them to sit at? What about light? Do you prefer a lot of natural light or even more light? Do you want the space to look amazing at night? Consider the walking or working path way in the kitchen. If possible, make sure there is enough space for 2 people to be cooking in the kitchen at the same time.<\/p>\n
