It\u2019s finally going to happen. My husband and I are going to remodel our Master Bathroom. We bought an older home 10 years ago. When we moved into this house we spent about $25,000 to update the obvious things in the house that made it look like it was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcartisanconstruction.com\/master-bathroom-remodel\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1255 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kcartisanconstruction.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Bathroom-Remodel-2-Before-Artisan-Construction-7321-N-Antioch-Gladstone-MO-64119-e1421095304830-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"This bathroom remodel needs to include a few doors for privacy. Bathroom was slightly remodeled 10 years ago. New tile floor and painted vanities which have since been repainted. We had the popcorn ceilings removed in the entire house (that was a mess for sure); we had most of the dark wood, including the doors, in the house painted an off white (that was in style 10 years ago). We had tile flooring put in the foyer, the bathrooms and the entry way off the garage. I was thinking about the rain and snow. I\u2019ve never been a fan of having someone come to our house when it is snowing or raining and asking them to take off their shoes. \u201cHey, I know it\u2019s cold outside and you\u2019re kind of chilly yourself, but could you please take off your shoes while you\u2019re here? Yea, thanks.\u201d \u00a0I don\u2019t like taking my shoes off at your house so I\u2019m certainly not going to ask you to take your shoes off at mine. Tiling the entry way flooring to our house solved that uncomfortable problem for me.The closing deal we had on the house offered us a certain amount to spend to replace carpeting in the house. Of course, the amount was less than desirable and now, to be honest, the carpet probably needs to be replaced again. At the time, my husband wanted to put wood floors in the family room. The cost was significant. I nixed the idea because; even though I\u2019m a little older (top of the baby boomer generation), I like to sit on the floor a lot. So wood flooring didn\u2019t seem very comfortable for my bum. It is a high traffic area and now I\u2019m regretting not getting it done. We had all the interior walls painted. Most if the walls are a very warm neutral color. Kind of a taupe. I still like the color 10 years later. I know gray is the new white, but how long till that goes out of style? Orange is the new black. Gray is the new white...<\/p>\n<h2>Want list for the bathroom<\/h2>\n<p>When thinking about a remodel that won\u2019t date the space, it\u2019s hard because I want what I want and part of me could care less if it is \u201cstylish\u201d or in. I like, no I love, simplicity. I like clean lines. I\u2019m not a big fan of curves. I am looking for a modest, modern, clean look.<\/p>\n<h3>Bathroom Vanity<\/h3>\n<p>The vanity is one big, long piece with 2 built in sinks that spans the entire length of the bathroom. The mirror also spans the length of the room. My husband and I would like 2 separate pieces of furniture with medicine cabinets for storage (again not sure they are in but our bathroom is small and space utilization is necessary plus it doesn't have to look like a medicine cabinet, right?) I am leaning toward an espresso finish with as many drawers as possible. I can\u2019t have the exposed shelving here as the space is small and I need to hide away many of the traditional bathrooms items. The bathroom has bi-fold doors on the closets and entry doors to the bathroom and toilet. I had to keep the closet doors but pulled off the other doors and replaced them with ceiling to floor curtains. We need another idea here. Pocket doors may be a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kcartisanconstruction.com\/master-bathroom-remodel\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1254 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kcartisanconstruction.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/Bathroom-Remodel-Before-Artisan-Construction-7321-N-Antioch-Gladstone-MO-64119-e1421095111282-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"The before photo of bathroom remodel by Artisan Construction, Artisan Construction, 7321 N Antioch Gladstone, MO  64119. Can\u2019t wait to see what ideas the remodeler has to offer for this.<\/p>\n<h3>Remodel Shower<\/h3>\n<p>I need to re-tile the shower and add a new shower pan for sure. I had it professionally steam cleaned and the whole thing is past its due date and needs to be redone. I am hoping to install a tile option that is easy to clean and stays clean. We need a new exhaust system. I\u2019ve always like the look of tiled walls in a bathroom. If the budget will hold it, I\u2019d like to tile the wall in front of the vanities, at the very least.<\/p>\n<h3>Bathroom Lighting<\/h3>\n<p>I am open to some lighting ideas. There is a ceiling fan but (shocker) it is not connected to any electricity. It appears to have been a decoration. Crazy but true. We will need some ideas about how to light this bathroom better.<\/p>\n<h2>Bathroom Remodel Expert<\/h2>\n<p>I have a budget in mind and am hoping I can get my clean, simple, modern, updated bathroom remodel done using it. I\u2019ve not done any pricing, so I know I will have a little give and take. The most important detail in this remodeling project is working with the right person. If I didn\u2019t know who I was going to use, I\u2019d have to try and find 3 referrals and interview each. I won\u2019t have to do that as I know exactly who I will use. It is a <a title=\"The best remodeling contractor in Kansas City!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kcartisanconstruction.com\/about-us\/\" target=\"_blank\">remodeling contractor <\/a>that has been in the business for a very long time. His reputation is impeccable. His attention to detail and work ethic is unlike many of those in the business. I\u2019m not sure I\u2019d even think about undertaking a project like this until I knew which contactor I could trust to not only do the job professionally (i.e. knows what they\u2019re doing and offers advice to save space, time and money). Lots of unfortunate consequences can happen when an inexperienced remodeling company puts their profit above the overall project or says they can do something that is outside their expertise.<\/p>\n<p>I am not hesitating to use Chad Pfeffer and <a title=\"Artisan Construction for all your remodeling needs\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kcartisanconstruction.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Artisan Construction<\/a> for my bathroom remodeling project.
